Re.Be.Designs is a partner-led advisory studio founded by Rebecca Schwartz and Scott Pessin, bringing together four decades of landscape architecture practice with deep experience in communications, strategy, and organizational life. We work at the intersection of design, systems thinking, and community insight, helping clients make decisions about land, buildings, and public spaces that hold up over time.

The studio is intentionally small so we can stay close to the work. Every engagement is led by the partners, from early conversations through to the difficult trade-offs that shape a project’s form, phasing, and impact. We listen closely to the people who will live with the outcomes, translate complex constraints into clear options, and hold the through-line between vision, feasibility, and everyday experience.

Our work is grounded in the belief that places are living systems. We look at how infrastructure, ecology, culture, and governance interact, then design strategies that strengthen those relationships rather than fragment them. That can mean reframing a master plan, rethinking how a campus or corridor is organized, or helping organizations align their internal decisions with the kind of communities they say they want to support.

Clients come to us when they need both rigor and care: a partner who can read drawings, policies, and financial models, but also pay attention to how a space will feel to the people moving through it. We bring curiosity, clear language, and a commitment to making complex decisions easier to see, discuss, and act on.
